BIOGRAPHY
Min. Sue Sam: Suzie Afari Sampson, popularly known by her stage name, Sue Sam, is a Ghanaian Gospel musician based in the UK.
Sue Sam, who has been in the gospel music industry for more than 3 decades (as a chorister and backup singer), released her maiden album in 2016 titled, “Gratitude”.
Besides music, Sue Sam works as a professional nurse. Earlier, she worked with Ghana Society UK as secretary / personal assistant to Ms Maria Lovell, who the Mayor of Luton.
Prior to relocating to UK, and switching careers, Sue Sam worked in the banking sector in Ghana for sometime. She graduated from Regent University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance with French. During her studies at Regent, she was nominated and served as one of the music directors of the university mass choir and in addition being later elected president of the Stott Society to serve for 2 terms due to her commitment, hard work and good leadership skills.
A product of Aburi Girls Secondary School (ABUGISS), Sue Sam was among the recipients of the Head of State Award (HOSA) in 2002/2003 as a bronze medalist. As a music aficionado, she also rose through the ranks to the position of assistant music director for Calvary Road Incorporated (CRI), which rocked gospel songs both on and off campus.
According to Sue Sam who was born on 28th June, her family has been the biggest influence on her music career. She says that, at the tender age, her mother used to take her to church at The Light of Life Gospel Mission, where she started singing. At around age seven, she joined the Triumphant Voices under the tutelage of Mr. Yaw Ansah Sasraku (now the CEO of Highlife Radio in the USA); with the support of Reverend Prince Afari Mintah.
Looking into the future Sue Sam says her vision is to pursue a dual career in music and nursing and follow the footsteps of gospel music icons such as Tagoe Sisters, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Mary Ghansah etc. She is confident that she ministry will take Ghana by storm and catapult her into a household name in Ghana gospel music.
Sue Sam currently worships at the Inspirational Charismatic Church (ICC) Luton branch under the leadership of Rev. Adu-Gyamfi.
